Neat food finds - Vancouver

Thursday, May 5, 2011

Arriving in a new city, it's hard to know where to go & what to do. Unlike our Europe trip we didn't invest in a Lonely Planet guide for Vancouver and were left to find places on our own. Since we were apartment searching, the places that we did find all relate to food or booze.

Steamworks Brewing Company - The only place downtown we could find to look at the water and have a drink. Nice food, a great Kir Royale and helpful staff. The staff lead us to our next find, Shabusen.

Shabusen - All you can eat sushi, goyza and Korean BBQ. Need I say more?

Nuba - Delicious Lebanese food. We went to the one on Hastings and the Tiki themed one off Main Street. Both excellent. Though the service is terrible at the Hastings one, but we're willing to put up with that for reasonably priced Lebanese food.

Cibo Trattoria - Fancy dining on the expensive side but well worth it. Don't believe that you need to have the full three courses to be full. We only ordered appetizers and a pasta each and couldn't eat everything.

Main Street Mt Pleasant - Wander up and down Main Street between E 3rd Ave & E 11th Ave and you will find many lovely cafes.

Cafe for Contemporary Art - I would move to the North Shore for this cafe. Art, food and coffee.
