This weekend was mostly spent at home. We wanted to go to Monte's (the local bar) for dinner Friday night but Lulu and I had a bit of a rough day together, with her pushing boundaries and pulling out a chunk of my hair, so we opted to get her in bed on time Friday night and we made pizza & watched Veep & House of Cards. I am addicted to both shows, more on that later this week.

Saturday morning Lulu & I braved the grocery store. She ate her way though the store & stayed relatively clam. Smiley face fritz is always a winner. By the time we reached the baby food isle she was about to lose it big time, but then we were in the baby food isle & I opened a pack of her favourite snack & all was well with the world again.

In the afternoon we made a fruit platter for a party and halfway through making the platter we found the party was cancelled (hello Saturday night in too) so Nick and Lulu took it over the road to the cyclists who were competing in a race around our neighbourhood park. The platter was greatly appreciated.

Sunday I made cookies and then we lounged in front of Lulu's new Doc McStuffins DVD before heading outside to pull out the weeds that have grown amongst our patchy lawn. After about 5 minutes of this Lulu said bye to us & headed to the back door. I asked if she wanted to go for a nap, she said yes and magically I was able to get her down for a nap! I swear this is the first (and probably the last) time this has happened. Maybe a nap was just a better option than weeding?

Once the weeds were up Nick scattered some more lawn seeds in the patches, we put the sprinkler on for an hour to water the seeds in and then what do you know? It rained! Not just drizzle, but rain rain. The seeds were well and truly watered in!

To avoid going crazy in a house bound way, we rounded out the weekend at Montes. Mojitos, beer, hot chips, aioli and friends - what more could you want?

Hope your weekend was fun too x
